Projects & Traditions
Ongoing projects, completed initiatives, and annual traditions showcase our commitment to serving the community and making a lasting impact.
Kiwanis Grove
-
The Kiwanis Grove, located near the Friendship Bridge at Aumiller Park, is a quiet, reflective space where Bucyrus Kiwanis plants trees in honor of past members. It stands as a living tribute to those who served, symbolizing the roots they've laid and the growth they inspired in our community.
Splashpad
-
The Bucyrus Splash Pad is one of our proudest community projects—built to bring joy to local families and kids of all ages. Funded through years of Kiwanis-led fundraisers and dedicated volunteer support, the splash pad represents what’s possible when a community comes together. It was paid off a year ahead of schedule thanks to events like our chicken BBQs, meat and freezer raffles, and even a toilet fundraiser!

Pickleball Court
-
Located near the Bucyrus pool and upper ball fields at Aumiller Park, these outdoor pickleball courts feature permanent nets and lines, and are free for the community to enjoy. The Kiwanis logo proudly displayed on the court highlights our club’s role in supporting this project as part of our ongoing mission to enhance local recreation and bring people together through service.
Picking Park
-
While the park itself isn’t a Kiwanis project, our club has proudly taken on the responsibility of maintaining the benches and grounds as an ongoing act of service. It’s one of the quiet ways we care for our community—year after year, season after season.
Big Flush Fundraiser
-
One of our most memorable and lighthearted fundraisers, the Big Flush involved a bright blue toilet making surprise visits to local yards. With a donation, the toilet could be removed—or better yet, passed on to a friend! This creative campaign raised funds for the Splash Pad and got the whole community laughing while supporting a great cause.
Salvation Army Bell Ringing
-
Each holiday season, Kiwanis members ring the bell for the Salvation Army—often engaging in a friendly rivalry with the other service club in town (yes, the one that starts with “R”). It’s all in good fun and for a great cause, as we help raise funds to support those in need during the holidays.
Benches at the Splashpad
-
Installed as part of our continued efforts to enhance the Splash Pad area, these benches offer a place for families to relax and watch their kids play. Whether donated or funded through Kiwanis events, they reflect our commitment to making community spaces more comfortable and welcoming.
Copper Kettle Rivalry Game
-
Each fall, Bucyrus Kiwanis presents the coveted Copper Kettle to the winner of the annual Bucyrus vs. Wynford football game.
