About the Ohio District

The Ohio District is part of the global Kiwanis family, made up of volunteers who are passionate about making a difference—one child and one community at a time. Across Ohio, nearly 7,500 adult members serve in about 225 clubs, each uniquely focused on addressing the needs of their local area.

Kiwanis clubs often work hand-in-hand with youth and adult leadership programs, known as Service Leadership Programs (SLPs), including:

  • K-Kids (elementary school)

  • Builders Club (middle school)

  • Key Club (high school)

  • Circle K International (college)

  • Aktion Club (adults with disabilities)

Each Kiwanis club has the freedom to choose projects that best serve its community, which means service may look a little different from town to town—but the mission is the same: improving lives through meaningful service. Clubs also vary in how they meet, from traditional weekly gatherings to virtual formats that provide flexibility and inclusion.

As the Ohio District celebrates over 100 years of service, members continue to grow their impact. This year, clubs are also encouraged to support the Ohio Governor’s First Family Project by organizing reading and literacy-focused service efforts, ideally in collaboration with their SLPs.

Bucyrus Kiwanis is proud to be part of Division 11N within the Ohio District of Kiwanis International. The Ohio District is one of the largest in Kiwanis, connecting clubs across the state to serve children and communities.

Division 11N includes the following clubs and their current membership totals:

  • Bucyrus – 48 members

  • Galion – 22 members

  • Lexington – 20 members

  • Mansfield – 63 members

  • Mount Vernon – 74 members

  • Shelby – 8 members

Together, these clubs work to support one another, collaborate on service initiatives, and strengthen the mission of Kiwanis: serving the children of the world, one community at a time.
